ACTION DUPLICATION EXPANDS DVD AND CD ON-DISC PRINT CAPABILITIES
Only DVD And CD Replicator With Three Printing Options
West Conshohocken, PA (March 13, 2007) – Action Duplication, the region’s premier replicator of DVDs and CDs, today announced the purchase of a new Lamin 6-Color Offset Press for printing directly on DVD and CD discs. The new equipment prints 4-color process images on optical discs with the same high resolution quality expected on offset printed paper.
The offset printer can print 85,000 discs per day. The resolution is 175 lines per inch. The press prints in CMYK plus 2 additional colors for adding a Pantone color and the white flood.
Action Duplication is now the only DVD and CD replicator capable of decorating optical discs with offset, silk screen, or on-disc digital printing. Each process has its advantages. Offset is best for extremely high quality 4-color process printing which closely matches printed packaging. Silk screen is best for printing with Pantone inks in up to 5 colors. On-disc digital printing offers high quality and is economical for 4-color process runs of less than 2,000 discs, and with runs using its variable print capability.
“The print quality of the new press sets the standard for optical disc decoration,” said Joel Levitt, president of Action Duplication. “Offset is now the preferred process for printing on new theatrical DVD releases. Because this state of the art press is quick to set up and uses economical consumables, we can pass the cost savings on to our clients.”

Action Duplication Triples Capacity for DVD Manufacturing
Addition of new molding line provides new standards for turnaround time and customer service
Conshohocken, June 9, 2005—Action Duplication, Inc., the region’s largest replicator and manufacturer of DVD, CD and VHS cassettes today announced the addition of new high speed M2 DVD molding line to increase the facility’s output to 36,000 DVD-5 or DVD-9 discs per day. The equipment and plant upgrade cost $1.5 million.
Joel Levitt, president of Action Duplication stated, “The company has expanded its capacity to meet the requirements of our clients.” Levitt went on to comment, “Action Duplication provides a very high level of service and we specialize in tight turnarounds, so the new line makes us competitively superior.”
The added capacity came in handy when the U.S. Department of Labor needed to replicate Up From Zero, a commemorative DVD honoring the rescue workers who excavated and rebuilt Ground Zero after the 9/11 disaster. “The Department of Labor project was planned a year out - and there was a huge demand that far surpassed what they’d thought they’d be needing,” says Rona Fitzgerald, who heads up the Action Duplication facility in Maryland.
Up From Zero was distributed via the Department of Labor Website—and as word about the availability of the free title spread over the Internet, orders for the DVD far exceeded initial expectations. More than 200,000 copies of the title were replicated in a series of orders and re-orders before the program was ended.
“What our customers are most impressed with is that fact that we’re extremely sensitive to their needs, whether they’re doing 10 copies or 10,000 copies,” says Fitzgerald. “It’s not unusual for us to get things at the last minute, or deal with last-minute changes.”
“Most of our referrals come from customers who find themselves in a predicament because they couldn’t get the turnaround time needed for their orders — until they came to Action Duplication. We specialize in those types of orders.” she says.

ACTION DUPLICATION OFFERS BREAKTHROUGH ON-DISC DIGITAL PRINTING
WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – Citing the ability to enhance quality and meet customers’ creative needs, Action Duplication announced today an expansion of services to include On-Disc Digital Printing. This new technology, developed by Auto-Tec AG, Switzerland, allows photo-quality images to be printed on CD’s and DVD’s. The quality of the image is far better than the industry standard silk-screen printing process. Additionally, the Digital Print Transfer process uniquely allows for the individual customization of each disc with variable data such as names, addresses, and serial numbers.
“Our On-Disc Digital Printing adds a new dimension to our existing capabilities and revolutionizes the decoration of optical discs”, said Joel Levitt, President of Action Duplication. “The exceedingly high quality of the printing and the ability to offer variable data will make this process the de facto standard in the near future.”
The ability to personalize optical discs creates many new uses for the medium. Examples are personalized Direct Mail CD’s, Business Card CD’s, CD Concert Tickets, the serialization of secure content, and Limited Edition Collectible DVD’s. The equipment can print 50,000 discs a day.
“The personalization feature of this service has far reaching implications and will take direct marketing with discs to a new level.” said Levitt. “Plus, the high quality disc label can now match the 4-color process packaging materials.”
The addition of Action Duplication’s On-Disc Digital Transfer service, along with the recently installed DVD molding capabilities, demonstrates the company’s continuing investment in the latest technology to serve the needs of its growing customer base.

"Manufacturing the DVDs in our own facility allows us to meet our customers’ pressing need for fast turnaround times, high quality, and a competitive price," said Joel Levitt, President and Founder of Action Duplication. "There is a vibrant video production industry in the Philadelphia-Washington corridor.
